Cycling high voltage: Unna talents conquer the podiums in the wind!

In the past few days, exciting events in cycling around Telgte have occurred. The U17 youth drivers of RSV Unna competed in the first competition of the coming racing year 2025, which took place in Frankfurt/or on the covered cycle track. Mats Harneke and Oskar Schulze-Hesselmann showed impressive achievements at the disciplines 2000m 2000m, 3000m team tracking and Madison. The team tracking in which Harnke and his team from NRW were able to win a clear victory was particularly remarkable. In the overall ranking, Harnke placed a respectable 6th place, while Schulze-Hesselmann took 19th place.

A day later, at the race "Around the Telgter wind turbines", numerous drivers from different age groups started in the open and windy route. The route, which included a demanding increase in front of the goal, was a real challenge. For many, this competition was the last opportunity to compete in the current season and attracted numerous participants.

success for the Müller family

The success of the U15 students Nuria Müller and Mathilde Adden was particularly eligible. The two talents sprinted on impressive places: Nuria Müller secured the first and Mathilde Adden third place, which gives her a moment on the podium. This is not only of personal importance for the young athletes, but also shows the rise of the cycling community in Telgte.

But that wasn't all! Father Tobias Müller also prevailed and took first place in the Masters race. Martin Brechmann achieved a solid sixth place in the same category. For Luca Harter, who started in the mass sprint of the elite races, there was also a nearby but not entirely accessible podium when he took sixth place. In the U19 Juniors, Konrad Kottmann was able to celebrate another remarkable success with second place - an exciting duel that was only decided shortly before the finish

The Harter family was also able to achieve impressive double success at the Cloppenburger Citycross on Friday. Luca Harter won the elite race with a large distance, while father Sven Harter won the Masters 4 race. The following day Sven was unlucky at the "Grand Autumn Prize of Hanover"; After a defect, he was only difficult to secure sixth place. In the women, Luisa Schmitt-Rodermund came to ninth place in the elite race.
