preserve traditions in Velten

In Velten, a unique interface between tradition and craft is created: The "Kachelofenbau Network" is merged under the patronage of the Museum Location Velten Foundation. Not only is the old knowledge around the tiled stove building passed on, but also actively taught in practice. This art has its roots in the early Middle Ages and has experienced a renaissance in Brandenburg since 1900. In the competence center, craftsmen and scientists can learn to make tiles by hand and to deepen the knowledge of historical burning techniques and material compositions. The aim is to obtain this valuable, intangible cultural heritage for future generations (more on MWFK Brandenburg ).
