VDK Marktbreit explores Cottbus: An unforgettable travel adventure!
Cottbus, Deutschland - The members of the VdK Social Association Marktbreit have embarked on an exciting adventure! Five days full of discoveries in Cottbus and the surrounding area were on the program, and the anticipation was huge. Accommodated in the comfortable hotel "Sorat" in Cottbus, the participants started every day with new highlights.
On the second day we went straight to the breathtaking Spreewald, where the lush nature amazed the group. An absolute must: a visit to a canvas factory in which the famous Spreewald cucumbers were tasted! The culinary delights were only the beginning of an exciting experience.

The following day led the travelers to Guben, which was once a center of the textile and hut industry. Here they immerse themselves in the story before going to Neuzelle, where the impressive former Cistercian monastery was visited. The well -preserved parts of the monastery facility told stories from long past times.
On the fourth day, a trip to the picturesque Upper Lusatia was on the plan. Görlitz, the easternmost city in Germany, enchanted the group with its medieval old town and the magnificent buildings from the 19th century. A walk in the UNESCO World Heritage Park from Bad Muskau rounded off the day and offered a breathtaking backdrop that invited to linger.
The crowning glory of the trip was the visit to the East German rose garden in Forst, which was recognized as the "Germany's most beautiful park". Surrounded by fragrant roses and rippling fountains, the VDK members were able to enjoy the last hours in this dreamlike surroundings before going back home. Tour guide Helmut Schleyer made sure that it became an unforgettable experience!
