Cottbus celebrates medalists: New Way of Fame on November 20th!

A glamorous evening is imminent! On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, the city of Cottbus/Chóśebuz will honor the bright stars of the Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games of Paris 2024 together with the German Olympic Society Cottbus/Spree-Neisse. The celebrations begin at 6:00 p.m. in front of the town hall on Berliner Strasse, where the "path of fame" is expanded by nine new badges!

The medalists Maike Hausberger, Josia Topf, Emma Hinze, Pauline Grabosch and Lea Sophie Friedrich returned from France with an impressive medal set. Their outstanding achievements not only proudly made Cottbus/Chóśebuz, but also the entire region. Mayor Tobias Schick praised the athletes and emphasized: "Paris made Cottbus/Chóśebuz proud again. Our athletes represent our beautiful hometown and show what is possible with passion and discipline."

Ralf Braun, chairman of the Dog Cottbus/Spree-Neiße, emphasized that the athletes won a total of nine medals in seven disciplines. "They are role models for every Cottbuser and every young athlete. Their successes show that you can achieve world -class performance with hard work and dedication," said Braun. The new badges will appreciate the previous 67 medalists and expand the impressive list of Cottbus sports legends.

The "Way of Fame" was launched by Dog Cottbus/Spree-Neissen to celebrate the success of athletes who were either born in Cottbus or are a member of a Cottbus sports club. With the expansion to a total of 76 badges, the city will duly recognize the outstanding performance of its athletes and enter into the city's Golden Book. An evening full of pride, honor and sporty moments of glossy is imminent!
