Cottbus celebrates 34th film festival: main prize for poetic masterpiece!

A Serbian film caused a sensation at the 34th Film Festival in Cottbus! "When the Phone Rank" impressively tells the story of a decaying country from the perspective of a young person. Her memories capture the dark mood and the social upheavals of the time. The jury was enthusiastic about the "unique, poetic film language" and awarded the film the main prize, which is endowed with a whopping 15,000 euros!

a victory over eleven competitors

director Radivojević triumphed in the best feature film category and prevailed against eleven other strong competitors. But that wasn't all! There were also additional awards for the best director and an outstanding acting. All winners were able to look forward to the traditional glass sculpture "Lubina", a symbol for artistic excellence.

The festival that started on Tuesday and ends in the evening offers an impressive program with 150 films from around 40 countries Central and Eastern Europe. A true festival for film fans and an important event in the international film scene!
