Before 10,319 enthusiastic spectators in the Erzgebirge Stadium, the Cottbusers, under the critical eyes of football legend Eduard Geyer, showed who had control over the game.

The first 20 minutes were a real ping pong game! The Cottbus keeper Elias Bethke had to watch properly, because Kilian Jakob left a huge chance unused when he didn't get the ball past him. But it was Timmy Thiele who sparked the show. After a clever pass from Maximilian Krauss, he marked the 1-0 in the 30th minute, a gate that became unsustainable due to an unfortunate deflection of Anthony Barylla.
