Berliner Linke demands: return mandates from the leaked up!
Berlin, Deutschland - The Berlin left is under pressure! After the dramatic leakage of five prominent members, the party leadership now demands that they lay down their mandates. A clear step to consolidate the party series and protect the authority, as the state association unmistakably explained on Wednesday.
Among the renegade are former senators such as Klaus Lederer and Elke Breitenbach, as well as the former parliamentary group leader Carsten Schatz. However, these MPs have already made it clear that they are not ready to return their mandates. Group leader Tobias Schulze said to the RBB that they wanted to take the time to check whether there is still a relationship of trust with the renegade.
The shocking Exodus
The departures hit the Berlin left particularly hard. The five former members who want to advise on the reaction to the state board's request on Wednesday are not the only ones who are affected. Other mandate holders, such as the social councilor Oliver Nöll from Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, must now face the consequences of their party losses. The pressure on the remaining members grows while the question is in the room: Will the left faction exclude the renegade? The uncertainty about the future orientation of the party remains, while it has to assert herself in the fight against inner tensions.
