Dentistry in the departure: Brandenburg an der Havel receives new clinic!

In an exciting step for dentistry in Brandenburg an der Havel, Gerhard Schmalz celebrated his start as the first dentistry professor! The passionate angler is enthusiastic to be able to work and research in this city. From January 2025, his team will be reinforced by two dentists, and more will be added in March. Dentistry is currently still located at Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 36, but the new tooth clinic will be opened in a historic industrial building next to the old tram depot in Bauhofstrasse in 2026.

a goal: specialist level for students

Schmalz has great ambitions: He wants the students to be at a level of specialist after their completion and have comprehensive practical and communication skills. Mayor Steffen Scheller expressed the hope that many of the future dentists will remain in Brandenburg an der Havel. A positive trend can already be observed among human doctors, where ten out of 51 students have recently decided to stay in the Region.
