Warning strike in Brandenburg: ZF employees demand seven percent more wages!

Brandenburg an der Havel. clear dissatisfaction. The requirement? A total of seven percent more wages and 170 euros especially for the ZF trainees! The scenes were emotionally invited when the participants raised their voices with the catchy melodies "Money, Money, Money" and "I need a dollar".

The strike was not just a simple protest, but a clear settlement with the ZF management. The IG Metall district manager Dirk Schulze put the uncertainty and anger of the workforce in the spotlight: "People are unsettled, many are also angry. If the management level does not communicate transparently, the fear stirs up!" A higher content was also required; Schulze emphasized: "We need more ashes in our pocket."

Dramatic salary negotiations are facing

But the answer from the employer to these pressing concern was sobering: An increase of only 1.7 percent from July 2025 and 1.9 percent from July 2026 should be offered to employees in a 27-month term-far too puny for IG Metall! Schulze made it unequivocally clear that the company managers, especially the ZF staff manager Jürgen Rother, apparently had no sense of the situation of the employees. "They haven't understood it yet!", Schulze continues.

In the middle of this unrest, ZF is faced with the challenge of a massive job cut. According to forecasts, the number of employees in the gearbox could only decrease to only 824 by 2030, since the production of electric car drives needs significantly fewer workers. The uncertainty hovers over the 1400 employees who are employed by ZF in Brandenburg an der Havel, while the transformation to e-mobility does not progress. Works council chairman Sandro Hoffmann urgently demands clarity from the management: "The workforce has the right to find out what is planned in the next few years."
