Large exercise in Werder: Rescue workers rehearse train accident at the train station

Werder, Deutschland - Berlin & Brandenburg Large Exercise in Werder: Emergency forces simulate train accident

A dramatic scenario came to life at the Werder train station on the Havel: over 100 emergency services and around 70 extras faced the challenge of a simulated train accident with several injuries and a fire. The deputy mayor Christian Große said that the goal of this large -scale exercise is to test and optimize the interaction of the various rescue workers.

intensive preparation for an emergency

In the exercise simulation, a train went to a brake block of the head station. Numerous organizations, including the Federal Police, the emergency services and the medical service of the Potsdam-Mittelmark district, and the volunteer fire brigades of the city of Havel and the district service of the district took part in the exercise. Despite the intensive activities, train traffic remained undisturbed, since the exercise took place on a special track and only one section of the train station was closed.

The city of Werder had planned the "sharp exercise" meticulously over the past nine months. Only a small circle was informed about the details, which made the exercise particularly realistic. Christian Große takes a positive balance: "So far we have found that the processes work so far." The emergency services are ready to react quickly and effectively in an emergency!
