Spremberg, Deutschland - An exciting educational trip led a 16-member delegation from Lower Lusatia from November 4th to 6th to the pulsating capital of Austria, Vienna! Organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Cottbus, sustainable urban development and smart city were on the agenda. Among the participants were prominent personalities such as IHK President Jens Warnken and Cottbus' Mayor Tobias Schick, who exchange ideas with representatives of regional companies and institutions. Schick emphasized Vienna's pioneering role in these future topics: "The city of Vienna is already very far in the topics of sustainable urban development and smart city."

In another significant development, Brandenburg's Minister of Economics and Energy, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jörg Steinbach a better use of the geothermal potential in the country. In order to achieve this, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has commissioned the State Office for Mining, Geology and Raw materials to carry out a new seismics campaign. This is intended to explore the subsoil from geothermia perspectives and create a solid planning basis for municipalities and investors.
Another highlight is the award of IVAN NDIP, professor at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg, through the International Microelectronics Assembly and Packaging Society (Imaps). He received the Imaps Outstanding Educator Award 2024 for his outstanding contribution to training in microelectronics. The award took place as part of the 57th International Symposium for Microelectronics in Boston.
and last but not least, the Lausitzer Füchse are happy about the obligation of Max Kislinger, a talented center who previously played for the Nuremberg Ice Tigers in the DEL. The contract comes until the end of the season at the right time, given the current injury problem in the team!
