DB increasingly maintenance: 30 jobs in Brandenburg secured!

Brandenburg an der Havel, Deutschland - db infrago goes on a shopping tour! The infrastructure daughter of Deutsche Bahn secures two state -of -the -art switching machines and a complete maintenance hall in Brandenburg an der Havel. This not only ensures jobs for around 30 employees, but also drastically increased the efficiency in the maintenance of the rail network!

In a spectacular deal, DB Infrago has now taken over two powerful turnout machines from the Austrian special company Voestalpine Track Solutions Germany GmbH. The package also includes a 900 square meter maintenance hall as well as important spare parts and storage materials. This step was sealed at the renowned industry fair in Innotrans in September and shows how serious the Deutsche Bahn is with the modernization of its infrastructure.

economy and efficiency in the focus

The purchase is part of the ambitious “S3” program, which is to drive the structural renovation of the DB by 2027. The aim is to restore the performance of the rail network and to significantly improve the customer experience. With the new machines, DB Infrago can do more work in the future, which increases the economy enormously.

currently, the DB is working on around 3,300 course and thousands of kilometers of tracks every year - mostly by external contractors. However, with the takeover of these large devices, DB Infrago will be able to do at least 30 percent of this work independently in the coming year. This not only means an enormous increase in capacities on the large device market in Germany, but also an expansion of the annual construction and maintenance volume. Deutsche Bahn is well on the way to tackling their challenges with fresh vigor!
