Winter service starts: This is how Brandenburg's highway remains safe!
Winter knocks on the door and the highways in northeastern Germany are ready! In Berlin, Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, winter service has now officially started. Drivers can look forward to over 1,400 kilometers of the route network, 21 motorway masters ensure that the streets can also be accessed with snow and smoothness. The clearing vehicles and snow blades are ready to quickly clear the lanes and to ensure security.
Preparations for the cold season have been in full swing since April. Ronald Normann, director of the Northeast branch, emphasizes the importance of these measures: "We have hired 60 seasonal winter service in all motorway masternies and stored thousands of tons of salt." In addition, the technology was put through its paces to start the winter season well. In the entire area of Autobahn GmbH, 6,300 street attendants are deployed around the clock, who monitor the road conditions and intervene immediately if necessary.

In order to further increase security, all 30 to 40 kilometers are attached to the highways installed. These measure the temperatures above and under the road and help the employees to determine the optimal time for the use of tumble. With 310 salt halls, 112 salt silos and 377 solet tanks, the motorway operator is well equipped to make winter service efficient and to keep the streets safe for all road users.
