Heat in Oberschöneweide: Take part in our survey!
At the beginning of October, in two selected districts of Berlin, "Greek Park" in Oberschöneweide and "Allende I" in the Allende district, the citizens are invited to participate in the survey "Healthy through the summer". This decision was made because particularly high heat loads were found in these regions. The survey is aimed at all residents aged 16 and over as well as to local people who are familiar with these areas for example or in their free time.
The aim of the survey is to get an insight into the perception of the summer heat and its effects on the quality of life of the residents. It is examined how the heat is experienced, what stresses occur and what needs in the areas of information, social support and adjustments in public spaces. The results of this survey are of great importance because they should help develop effective measures that meet the requirements of the citizens.
Conditions of participation and modalities
The information on participation is sent by post to all residents from the age of 16. In addition to access to an online version, older citizens in particular have received an analog questionnaire that is pre-franked and can be sent back. There is also the possibility to fill out the questionnaire with support in the "Open Meeting" of the Märkische Social and Bildungswerk e.V. in Oberschöneweide and in the Kiezklub Allende.
For those who do not live in the affected areas, there are alternative participation options: You can also participate in the institutions mentioned or participate in the survey via the online links provided. The processing of the questionnaire takes about 15 minutes and participation is completely voluntary and anonymous.
Results and future events
After carrying out the survey, it is planned to evaluate the determined data within six to twelve months. As a result, events and workshops are organized to further deepen the topic of summer heat. Interested parties can already register for these future events via the link www.berlin.de/tk-hitze-talk .
Laura Harms is available for further information or support in filling out the survey. You can reach by email at laura.harms@ba-tk.berlin.de or by phone at 030 90297-6171 from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This initiative is viewed by many as an important step to develop targeted measures to reduce the heat load for the affected districts and to improve the quality of life of the residents. It is clear that the recording of these needs and perceptions can make a decisive contribution to urban development.
