A sad farewell for cultural friends in Berlin! Next Sunday the last museum Sunday will be celebrated with free admission, for a heartbreaking reason: cuts in the cultural budget of the capital! The Berlin museums, which have opened their doors to everyone every first Sunday of the month since 2021, must now say goodbye to this popular offer. Over 2.2 million visitors have benefited from this campaign in recent years, but now is over!

Almost 80 cultural institutions, from large museums to small galleries, have come together to celebrate the last museum Sunday. In addition to free admission, exciting program items such as tours and workshops are also offered. One of the participating houses includes the old museum on the museum island, which is a highlight for art and historical lovers. But despite all the efforts to continue the museum Sunday in any form, the efforts were unsuccessful. The black and red coalition is planning massive savings in the Berlin State Budget 2025, and the culture has to bleed-130 million euros less are on the list, which is about twelve percent of the previous budget.
