The quality of the supply can no longer be guaranteed!

The closure only affects obstetrics, while the other specialist departments such as internal medicine, surgery and pediatrics are still available around the clock. The Evangelical Hospital remains the first point of contact in emergencies, with a consistently open rescue center. The Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Integration and Consumer Protection of the State of Brandenburg has already been informed about the upcoming closure, and the employees have been informed today.

The reasons for this drastic decision are diverse: in addition to the tense personnel situation, demographic developments also play a role. The birth rate is declining, and the structural challenges for maternity clinics only make economic operation possible for over 800 births per year. This year, however, the clinic only recorded 250 births! But don't panic: The Ministry of Health assures that there will be no medical undersupply in the region. Five hospitals with obstetrics can be reached quickly within a radius of 35 kilometers, and numerous resident gynecologists and midwives are available in Ludwigsfelde.

The hospital management offers support for the midwives and doctors of the closed clinic when looking for jobs in the region. Nurses can be used in other stations. A dramatic cut for the region, which is well prepared by those responsible!
