The most tragic incident was a bus accident on the A11, in which two people were killed and several others were seriously injured. Police officers and rescue workers were in constant use until Sunday afternoon. A specific weather -related accident occurred on January 11th at 11:19 p.m. on Apfelallee in Görlsdorf, where a car came off the road due to unsuitable speed and crashed into a fence. The police urged the road users to adapt their driving style to the winter conditions and to avoid the consumption of drugs and alcohol.

Another serious traffic accident that shook the region occurred on April 2, 2023 on the A11 in the Uckermark district. At around 11:20 p.m., a man lost control of his Volvo due to unknown cause and crashed into the middle protection plank several times. Despite immediate resuscitation measures by rescue workers, the 50-year-old died at the scene of the accident. The highway towards Berlin was completely closed for about two hours to carry out rescue and recovery measures. The police have initiated an investigation into the exact cause of the accident, as Reportnet24.de reported.
