Berliner Ringbahn back into operation: Refurbishment work successfully completed!

Greifswalder Straße, 10405 Berlin, Deutschland - The Berlin S-Bahn has taken up speed again after the autumn holidays! From Monday, November 4, the ring railway will roll through again after extensive renovation work. The route between Greifswalder Straße and Wedding was interrupted due to the introduction and testing of the new ZBS train protection system. This state -of -the -art system monitors the trains while driving and replaces the old, maintenance -intensive mechanical driving barriers. But not all routes are free again!

continued restrictions in the north of Berlin

Travelers in the north of Berlin must continue to adapt to restrictions. Until Wednesday, November 13th, the route between Nordbahnhof and Bornholmer Straße as well as Alt Reinickendorf/Pankow-Heinersdorf (S25/S2) will remain closed. The S-Bahn line S1 is also affected and does not drive between Nordbahnhof and Wittenau . Pendulum buses and regular pendulum traffic between Wittenau and Waidmannslust are set up.

Air travelers who want to travel to or from BER Airport must also expect restrictions. The track renewal between Altglienicke and the airport BER lasts until Friday, November 8th. During this time there is no S-Bahn traffic between the airport and Adlershof, and travelers are asked to use the FEX (Express Airport) or regional trains. The S85 will not run between Baumschulenweg/Treptower Park and Frohnau by Sunday, November 10th. Current information on the closures and timetable changes can be found on the S-Bahn website [SBahn.berlin].
