Coffee bet against the cold: districts fight for most donations!

Spandau, Deutschland - On January 8, 2025, the coffee bet for the cold aid in Berlin, which now includes five districts: Neukölln, Reinickendorf, Lichtenberg, Spandau and Tempelhof-Schöneberg. The initiative has the motto "Coffee against Cold" and calls the citizens: Inside to donate coffee packs to help homeless people.

The district mayors: Inside, take part in this campaign and have teamed up with the retailers Michael Lind and Ralf Oelmann, who will donate 2,500 euros each if a district collects at least 500 coffee packages. This competition idea, which is referred to as the district challenge, is intended to create further incentive to collect as many coffee packs as possible.

The period for the collection campaign extends from January 8th to January 20, 2025. The result of the coffee bet will be announced on January 21 at 2 p.m. in the Kubus cold aid and emergency overnight stay in Neukölln. The collected coffee packs are to be distributed after the homeless help facilities.

According to a joint press release from the district offices, the coffee bet was originally initiated by Michael Lind in 2019. This is the first time that five districts take part in this campaign. The competition is intended to draw attention to the emergency of homeless people, which underlines urgency and social cohesion in the city.
