In mid-November, Hannes Jagerhofer presented a new, spectacular multisport event on Lake Wörthersee for 2025. The disciplines included beach volleyball, climbing, water skiing and wakeboard. A roll-out has already been considered internationally, with positive conversations in Barcelona and Saudi Arabia. But this impressive vision was broken only a month later by the withdrawal of the sponsor A1, as the event agency acts from Jagerhofer announced. Because of the short -term nature, the event cannot take place in July and will be postponed to 2026 to ensure the necessary quality, explained Jagerhofer. He emphasized that the time gained was used to establish stable partnerships and put the event on a sustainable basis.like laola1.at , the cancellation of the event was necessary in particular due to the financial exit of A1. The loss of a significant part of the budget made it impossible to maintain the planned events in Pörtschach and Velden. However, Jagerhofer also sees the situation as an opportunity to align the event to the future. The bad news about the event unfortunately throw a shadow on the sporty ambitions that the region should enliven. Jagerhofer, who had long organized a beach volleyball tournament in Vienna, had hoped to open a new chapter with the Wörthersee event and continue the tradition of sport there. Due to the challenges that the cancellation brings with it, it remains to be seen how the plans can be concretized for 2026.
