Over 8 million euros for Kempten's new Illerbrücke: traffic revolution!
Over 8 million euros for Kempten's new Illerbrücke: traffic revolution!
The city of Kempten and the district of Oberallgäu will benefit from far -reaching improvements in traffic conditions. The Free State of Bavaria has provided over 8 million euros for the replacement building of the Illerbrücke near Hirschdorf and the expansion of the district road KE 24/OA 24. Transport Minister Christian Bernreiter underlined the importance of these measures to increase traffic safety and to improve the performance of the traffic process.
The existing Iller Bridge, which dates from 1967, has numerous damage and deficits in the load -bearing capacity. A lack of retention system and a railing that is too low reduce traffic safety, plus strong concrete damage. A repair of the bridge is no longer economically justifiable. In addition, the current road width of the district road of only 6 meters no longer corresponds to today's requirements. The construction of the bridge and the expansion of the district road are intended to improve the routing and expand the road to 6.50 meters. A 2.50 meter wider walking and bike path is also planned. The total costs of the project amount to 12.4 million euros.
Details about construction work at the Illerbrücke
In addition, further construction measures are planned in connection with the Iller Bridge near Sigishofen. According to stbake.bayern.de , the replacement new building of the Illerbrücke begins on February 19, 2024, whereby the construction work in the area of the Sonthofen south junction takes place. The renewal of the B19 bridge over the Iller and the underpass of the junction site will take around 3.5 years. Due to the poor structural condition of the bridge, a replacement building is required.
As part of the work, the B19 is expanded between the Sonthofen North and South junctions to improve the flow of traffic. The new bridges are to be widened to 4 or 5 traces, with the new bridge consists of two sub -structures, which include a total of 4 lanes. In the direction of Oberstdorf, two main lanes and a main lane and a thread strip are set up in the direction of Kempten. The bridge over the junction load receives a main lane and a threading strip.
The Federal Republic of Germany is investing around 19 million euros in this extensive project. Preparations for the construction site facilities begin in February 2024, including wooden and clearing work. Illerbetriebs routes for pedestrians and cyclists are blocked during the entire construction period; Depirtions are planned via the district road bridge OA 5. In addition, the Iller is temporarily blocked for boat traffic. From mid -March 2024, half -side closures are planned in the road area of the B19, which are regulated with a light signal system at night.
