Russia performs fatal attacks on Ukraine despite Trump's appeal

Moscow has again committed devastating attacks on Ukraine, despite the call of US President Donald Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin to "stop" the attacks! The most recent droning attacks demanded at least eight lives across the country, and this is the most dangerous bombing of Ukraine since the middle of last year.

attacks in different regions

A crone attack on the eastern city of Pavlohrad killed three people on Friday, including a 76-year-old woman and one child, and ten others were injured, explained the governor of Dnipropetrowsk, Serhiy Lysak. In the south of Ukraine, two people died in attacks on Cherson, as the governor of the region, Oleksandr Prokudin, announced. These attacks were directed against critical infrastructure and residential buildings. Two other people also died in the eastern Donetsk region, and another person was killed in Charkiw in the northeast of the country, according to the regional leaders.

massive bombing in Kyiv

The capital of Ukraine, Kiev, was the main goal of Russia's massive bombing on Thursday. Several places were hit in the city, which led to 12 fatalities and 87 injuries. The Ukrainian emergency services announced on Friday that they had completed the search for survivors in the ruins of a apartment block, which was met by a supposedly North Korean ballistic missile.

Trump expresses frustration about peace talks

The new attacks come after President Trump expressed his frustration on the standstill of the peace negotiations on Thursday. He said he was "not happy" and asked Putin to "stop" the attacks! Hours later, however, Trump expressed that both Russia and Ukraine want to peace. On Friday, Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff in Moscow is expected to have further discussions about an agreement with Putin.

open points in the negotiations

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with CBS News on Thursday that Moscow was "ready to achieve a deal", but added that there are also specific points that have to be "refined". At the beginning of the week, Trump sharply criticized the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj and accused him of endangering peace after Selenskyj declared that it was against the constitution of his country to recognize Russian control over the Crimea, which was illegally annexed by Russia in 2014.

consequences of a possible recognition

Every step to recognize Russian control over the Crimea would turn back a decade of US politics and could disturb the widespread consensus after the Second World War that international boundaries should not be changed by violence. As part of his mission to achieve a peace treaty to terminate the Three Years' War, the US government has proposed to recognize the Crimea as part of Russell, a step that, according to diplomatic sources, has alerted US allies in Europe.

public disputes between Trump and Selenskyj

The dispute over the Crimea is the latest example of very public disagreements between Trump and Selenskyj. Trump emphasized that he was just as hard to Putin, but became defensive when reporters of the White House asked him about the concentration of Russia. "To stop the war, not to take over the whole country. A pretty big concession," replied Trump. "We put Russia under pressure, and Russia knows that, and some people who are close to know that, otherwise he wouldn't talk now."
