Process for a fatal accident: driver escape and memory of the 18-year-old!
Bad Waldsee, Deutschland - The dramatic appeal process against a 36-year-old driver is currently running at the Ravensburg district court. The man is responsible for a serious traffic accident in the summer of 2022 near Bad Waldsee, where an 18-year-old died and several other people, including two little girls, were seriously injured. He had initially denied that he had noticed some of the accident, but he now ruefully confessed that he was going to escape the driver and had fled the scene of the accident. This was confirmed by Tagesschau
judgment and appeal
In the first process, the accused was sentenced to a prison sentence of one and a half years without probation. On the other hand, he appealed because he hopes that the judgment will be converted into a suspended sentence and that he can get his driver's license back. The family of the late young woman is represented as a co -plaintiff in the proceedings and demands justice. The appeal process, which started in November 2024, includes several trial days in which witnesses are also to be heard in order to make a final judgment. A judgment is expected to be expected in mid-December, such as SWR reported.
The accused, who is now very evident, had previously claimed to have remained unharmed and not noticed anything of the accident. But the confession could significantly tighten its situation. The trial is followed precisely by the public, not least because of the tragedy of the case, which is reinforced by the persistent grief of the bereaved. At the scene of the accident, where candles and flowers are still being remembered by the 18-year-old, the memory of the cruel incident remains alive.
