New volleyball balls for St. Veit: Sport in focus of the NÖMs!

St. Veit an der Gölsen, Österreich - The students of the NÖMS St. Veit an der Gölsen can look forward to new volleyball balls. These were financed by the Sparkasse Lower Austria Mitte West with an amount of 500 euros in order to take into account the high wear of the existing balls. Director Martina Klarer, sports teacher Kerstin Hörmann and the pupils as a whole are active for sport, in the spirit of the school motto: "Moving, learning, growing", like meinbezirk.at . Volleyball has always been one of the two ball sports that will be offered from the first class and is very popular.

fair commitment in Osnabrück

Another remarkable sporting event recently took place in Osnabrück. On June 1st, the Fairtrade-Town Osnabrück steering group organized a soccer tournament with the focus on human rights and the use of fair-produced footballs together with the Ernst Moritz Arndt-Gymnasium. Mayor Uwe Görtemöller symbolically handed over 100 of these balls to the participating schools, including the Graf Stauffenberg-Gymnasium, such as Hasepost.de . The new balls, made by the Osnabrück start-up Bontura, not only make a contribution to fair production conditions, but also serve to promote awareness of environmentally friendly and fair procurement in schools.

Overall, these fairly produced balls are to be used in 25 secondary schools in Osnabrück and improve the standards in the sports sector in the long term. Another tournament in which these balls are used is already planned for September. The initiative illustrates the increasing importance of fair procurement in education in order to counteract exploitation and environmental degradation and at the same time to support the educational mandate of the schools.
