Kilde celebrates emotional comeback: First turns on skis since the fall!

The Norwegian Skistar Aleksander Aamodt Kilde celebrated his emotional comeback on Beaver Creek's ski slopes after recovering from a serious injury. In mid-January, the 32-year-old suffered a dramatic fall in the Lauberhorn and had to undergo further operation after infection. At the first time he performed on skis, Kilde shone when he performed his first careful turns in the perfect snow. "I suck it up," he said enthusiastically and divided his joy in a video on Instagram that documented his return. The "crown" reported how much the process of skiing after his long time of suffering means.

But Kilde still has a long way to run before he can run again. His plans for a comeback in the current season are unrealistic. He is already aware that his goal will be geared towards the next season. "I do everything that is possible," he said in an interview with ORF. While he sees his return as a personal milestone, he has so far remained spectators, while other top drivers such as Marco Odermatt and Vincent Kriechmayr make the slopes unsafe. "It hurts not to be able to stand at the start," admitted Kilde while enjoying the race from a distance.

challenges and progress

In the past few months,

Kilde has not only fought with the physical consequences of his injury, but also with mental challenges. As already mentioned by Eurosport , the 21-time World Cup winner has lost nine kilogram body weight during this time, which certainly also affected its muscle strength. Despite these setbacks, the Norwegian is optimistic: "I feel better every day. Hopefully everything will be physically as if before my injury." Kilde assures that he will do everything possible to return strongly and healthy.
