ECP surprised: With 7: 4 against Ulm back in the track of success!

The ice hockey club EC Pfaffenhofen started the year with two defeats against the teams from Schongau and Schweinfurt. These setbacks have the result that the play-off train in the ice hockey bayern league for the EC Pfaffenhofen has apparently been crazy. With just one win from the last six games, the challenge arises to recharge your mind for the upcoming round of relegation in the remaining main round areas. The next games will take place on Friday at 8 p.m. against TSV Peißenberg and on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. against VFE Ulm/Neu-Ulm.

After the EC Pfaffenhofen was still in the race for a pre-play-off place in mid-December, the current balance sheet has significantly reduced. There are currently 24 points on the account, which corresponds to the total number of points in the past two years. So far, however, the team has developed from a point supplier to a serious opponent. Important players like Alex Eckl, due to an injury, and Jakub Vrana, who is blocked, are missing. The TSV Peißenberg, on the other hand, is at risk as a table and with the worst home record and is dependent on points to stay in the play-off race.

strong appearance against Ulm

At the weekend there was a decisive game against VFE Ulm/Neu-Ulm, in which the EC Pfaffenhofen won 7: 4 and took three points from Ulm. Before this game, Stefan Teufel, the trainer of the ECP, expressed the wish to beat one of the great opponents after the team had previously lost to TSV Peißenberg. The team showed a strong performance with a quick switching game, committed defense work and an outstanding goalkeeper Jonathan Kornreder, who contributed significantly to success.

The EC Pfaffenhofen took the lead early: Robert Neubauer scored the first goal in the 2nd minute. Even if Ulm recorded more shots (60:18), many of them were harmless. Another important goal scored Oliver Eckl in the 9th minute before Ulm was able to shorten Bohumil Slavicek to 1: 2. However, the guests from Pfaffenhofen were unimpressed and scorten twice within 38 seconds, increasing them to 4: 2. An overpaid goal by Jakub Vrana in the 33rd minute brought the lead to 5: 2. The last minutes were characterized by other gates for both Ulm and for the ECP until the game ended with a final score of 7: 4 for Pfaffenhofen.

The game against Ulm and the previous course of the season show that the EC Pfaffenhofen is on a positive way, despite the missed play-off chances. The next encounters will be decisive to optimally use the remaining main round games.
