Dornstettens Stadtwald: Sustainable forest care for the future!

In the city forest of Dornstetten, a total of around 8,500 meters of wood is to be hit next year. Forest management continues to orientate itself in the long -term forest operation, while nature rejuvenation plays a subordinate role. Annual profits from the city forest are between 200,000 and 300,000 euros, but administrative costs increase, as from a report of the Black Forest messenger . District forester Ralf Polkowski and Fabian Kiefer, area manager of the West at the Freudenstadt district office, informed the Dornstetter municipal council about progress in 2023 and the planning for 2024.

The city of Dornstetten has been pursuing a natural forest management for over 30 years, which is based on the principles of the lawyer. The Stadtwald Dornstetten was recognized in 2022 as a sample company of the year, which recognizes continuity in the forest economy objective and the trusting cooperation.
