Sundays in the library: culture and exchange for all citizens!

The Potsdam city and state library will also open their doors on Sunday in 2025! This decision follows a successful test run that started in September 2024. The library is open on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., which enables comfortable access for families, learners and the elderly. Over the past four months, around 7,000 visitors enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and took part in around 40 free cultural events, including concerts and workshops. Brigitte Meier, provisional deputy for education, praised the concept, even if some services such as the exhibition of library cards cannot be offered on this day. The Lichtenberg City Library also follows the trend of the extended opening times and opens its doors from September 8 to December 15, 2024, seven days a week.
