New digital zebra brings digital support in Berlin-Hohenschönhausen
The Anna-Segher's Library in Berlin-Hohenschönhausen has introduced a new advisory service called "Digital-Zebra" to support citizens in digital applications. District Mayor Martin Schaefer, member of the CDU, officially consecrated the first location in Lichtenberg on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
The "Digital-Zebra" project offers free help with various digital challenges such as the online booking of doctor's appointments, access to civil services and the creation of PDFS. Trained digital pilots are intended to support citizens to deal with digital applications.
District Mayor Martin Schaefer emphasized the importance of digital inclusion and participation for all citizens. He emphasized that everyone should have the opportunity to participate in digital development, regardless of technical knowledge.
The Anna-Segher's library is one of 17 locations in Berlin that implement the "Digital Zebra" project. In the future, the Anton Saefkow Library will also provide such an offer. The opening times for digital advice in the Anna-Segher Library are Monday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-3 p.m., Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The “Digital-Zebra” project is supported by the Association of the public libraries of Berlin (VÖBB) and financed by the Culture and Libraries program (Kubist) of the European Fund of Regional Development (EFR). Further information is available on the website www.digital-zebra.berlin.
