Mühlviertler helps children in Uganda: a heart for disadvantaged souls!

Lichtenberg, Österreich - Stephanie Brandl, teacher from Lichtenberg and a native of Sandler, discovered her heart for the disadvantaged children in Uganda in 2016. As a "Christ child", she not only celebrates her birthday at Christmas, but also feels called to help children in need. Every year she flies to Uganda at her own expense to hand over collected donations to local organizations and help directly on site. "The stories of the children, especially those of the pigeon Buben Martin, touched me," says the 36-year-old in an interview with Kinderweltreise.de Your everyday life often begins with difficult tasks before you can go to school, whose path often requires an hour's walk. At school you often still have to appear in uniform, which is a challenge, especially for children without suitable shoes.

a personal mission

Brandl reports of her experiences: "I visit the families that I have met over the years and ask how I can help." She spends time with the children, organizes excursions and brings small gifts such as toys or hygiene articles. Your visits not only bring practical help, but also joy into the life of the children. "Every help helps the children," she summarizes, and shows the gratitude and joie de vivre that she perceives during her visits. Despite their often cloudy circumstances, the children in Uganda are curious and full of joie de vivre.

Brandl's commitment to the children in Uganda is more than just help - it is a connection between cultures and the pursuit of a better life. "We are all people and basically want the same thing: security, love and an opportunity for a fair life," she emphasizes, while dreaming of her plans for the next trip.
