Berlin is urgently looking for election helpers: act and earn 100 euros now!

Given the upcoming early Bundestag election on February 23, 2025, Berlin is still looking for election helpers. The state election manager Stephan Bröchler reported that most of the twelve districts are progressing well. Nevertheless, there is a special need for election helpers in the Mitte, Lichtenberg, Treptow-Köpenick and Neukölln districts. Especially in Marzahn-Hellersdorf, the election leader and secretary are searched for.

A total of around 2,000 to 3,000 election workers are still required across Berlin, including around 700 in Mitte. The total application planning provides for a need of 36,600 helpers after only 30,000 were estimated by the state election authorities in November. Bröchler expressed himself optimistic that the gap can be closed. All election workers must be at least 18 years old and German citizens. You will receive a so -called refreshment allowance, with assessors receiving 100 euros (80 euros in postal voting locations) in pollen.

tasks and remuneration of the election workers

The tasks of the assessors include distributing and counting vocal points and packaging of voting documents. Clerk are responsible for leading the electoral register, records and fill out election documents. Supervisors who keep in touch with the district election office will receive 120 euros (100 euros in postal voting locations).

The organization of the Bundestag election within 60 days is described as a sporting challenge. Bröchler visited a polling station in Lichtenberg and was surprised by the abrupt end of the traffic light coalition in the federal government. The challenge of postal voting also increases: It is planned that the postal voting documents will arrive at the voters on February 10, who then have 13 days to fill and send them off. It is recommended to personally hand over the documents to the district office.

On Wednesday, December 27th, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will decide whether a new election will be called within 60 days. The democratic parties have already agreed on February 23 as a new election date to maintain the interests of voters and to ensure that the elections run smoothly.
