Coalition talks from the Union and SPD: A real change of direction?
Vienna, Österreich - After intensive exploratory talks between the Union and the SPD in Berlin, the optimistic mood is. Both sides report an open and constructive exchange that started on Friday. The Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder emphasized in a message on Internet service X that the high election result of the AfD was to be understood as a warning signal for democracy. He sees the SPD as a reliable partner in the fight against right -wing extremists, especially because of its tradition during the Weimar Republic. At the same time, Söder calls for a serious realignment in government work that goes beyond superficial changes.
