Big light festival in Berlin: Europe's largest CHANUKKA chandelier shines!
Brandenburger Tor, 10117 Berlin, Deutschland - The largest CHANUKKA candlestick in Europe was inaugurated at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. This impressive ceremony took place on Monday, matching the upcoming CHANUKKA celebration, which begins on Wednesday, December 25th. The candlestick, which reaches a height of ten meters, has been established by the Chabad community for 19 years and symbolizes the miracle of CHANUKKA and the lively Judaism in Germany. In memory of the re-ordination of the second Jewish temple in Jerusalem in 164 BC, a new candle is lit every evening during the eight festival, such as the General reported.
In view of the current terror, the Jewish Education Center Chabad emphasizes that it is particularly important to send the message to the world that Germany is now an open and tolerant country. In this context, other cities such as Washington, London and Moscow CHANUKKA candlesticks are also set up. On Tuesday, December 27th, a ceremony will take place in which the fourth candle will be lit together with representatives from the Christian, Muslim and Jewish community. This joint celebration underlines the interreligious dialogue and solidarity, such asDetails | |
