Future of the game streets in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg: Hope for 2025?

The district office Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg has announced plans for the continuation of the popular “temporary game streets” in Berlin from 2025. The project, which has attracted numerous children and families since its introduction in 2019, enabled impressive 5,592 hours of play in the past five years. If the financing by the Senate Administration is still ensured, the district office wants to offer playing opportunities several times in the coming year. Such events not only promote the game of the children, but also the neighborhood interaction, such as coffee chats and painting together with street chalks, according to the district office. As Berliner Zeitung reported a total of 272 of these appointments throughout Berlin, including a special highlight with 35 participating locations on the Berlin play street action day.
