Scandal in the district office: 1.4 million euros disappear in Kreuzberg!

A secret Auditors report has uncovered serious grievances in the Berlin district office Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. The report documented unjustified salary payments and questionable special services that ask taxpayers for the cash register.

In this way, an administrative employee illegally received the fee group 11 (5600 euros gross monthly) without her area of responsibility being evaluated in advance. Missing evidence of professional experience was also recognized, with parental leave as "relevant professional experience" being declared. Another employee was hired without a proven qualification in pay group 9 (up to 4600 euros gross), although necessary documents or degrees were not available.

massive wrong decisions and high costs

A retroactive salary increase for an employee, for whom there was no understandable justification, led to an additional payment for over seven years in the amount of 57,000 euros, of which 18,000 euros are already statute -barred. In addition, an administrative employee received several non-found service premiums of 3490 euros and 3553 euros as well as a Corona premium of 500 euros. A technical employee took part in a Shiatsu massage training, the costs of which were also borne by the district office without applying for education or recreational leave.

In a supplementary report by the State Audit Office, the district office is criticized for incorrect personnel decisions and unjustified payments. Over 170 personnel processes have been examined, with demonstrable defects in the non -compliance with personnel law. This also includes the evaluation of professional experience and the granting of premiums.

The political reaction to this report is different: The CDU parliamentary group leader Ulrike von Rekowsky describes the criticism as "serious" and suspects political influence. CDU and FDP have sharp criticism, while the left faction takes a reserved attitude. Sebastian Pröbster from the left sees no reason to worry and emphasizes the need for the district office to gain and maintain qualified personnel, while this was evasive to the allegations.

These reports show that there are considerable problems in the administration of the district that can result in both financial and organizational consequences, as well as in the reports of the Berliner Kurier and of course Magazin explained.
