Kreuzberg creates Schulstraße: More space for students by 2025!

An exciting new chapter for the Leibniz high school in Kreuzberg! On Monday, November 18, a temporary school road was set up in Schleiermacherstrasse. This innovative measure ensures that the street in front of the school is cordoned off by barriers between 9.30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Over 800 pupils can now play safely and undisturbed during the break times and move, since the school yard and the sports field blocked on the basis of construction work do not offer enough space.

The teachers take responsibility for the blocking, which begins with the first big break and ends with the last big break. During this time, there is an absolute stopping ban for vehicles that have to be removed before the start of the blocking period. But don't worry! Outside of these times as well as on weekends and public holidays, the road remains open for driving and parking.

Kreuzberg: Schulstraße until May 2025!

Annika Gerold von den Greens, district councilor for traffic, emphasizes the importance of such temporary closures. They have already proven themselves in other projects and contribute to increasing traffic safety and quality of stay. Cooperation with schools and initiatives is crucial for the success of these measures. The temporary school road will initially remain until the end of May 2025, and the residents were informed about this exciting development.
