Dramatic accident in Lichtenberg: ICE car recorded and trapped!

In the Berlin district of Lichtenberg, there was a dramatic incident in the ICE plant Rummelburg on Wednesday morning. At around 5 a.m., an Intercity Express (ICE) caught a car when it tried to cross the tracks. The collision was violent: the train pushed the vehicle over several meters and brought it into an unsafe position, which stuck the car in the track area.

The driver of the car, a 57-year-old German, was trapped in the impact. Immediate help came from the fire brigade rescue workers, who quickly hurried to the site and were able to free the man out of his vehicle. Although the driver and the 38-year-old driver of the ICE were apparently without injuries, the car driver was taken to a hospital for security.

consequences of the collision

The incident has resulted in a chain of legal steps. The federal police are initiating an investigation on suspicion of a dangerous intervention in rail traffic against the driver of the car. Such incidents are of great importance from a security point of view, since they can endanger the integrity of rail traffic and have serious consequences for the security of everyone involved.

The driver was lucky in misfortune, because there were no other passengers on his train at the time of the accident. Nevertheless, it remains unclear which precise circumstances led to the fact that the car wanted to cross the track area and whether the driver observed the possibly applicable traffic rules. Although the police investigations are still going on, it is already important to learn from such incidents to improve the safety in rail transport.
