The return of the East Metal icons: band history in change!

In the past few decades, the metal scene in East Germany has undergone remarkable developments, especially after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Some bands have established themselves in the music landscape and still shape the genre.

The band ** Depressive Age ** from Berlin, founded in 1980, is considered one of the pioneers of Thrash Metal. ** Heaven Shall Burn **, also founded in the 90s in Saalfeld/Saale, combines Death Metal with melodic elements and is known for their political positions. Her latest cooperation with the punk band Donuts for the song "No step back" illustrates her commitment to social issues.

The band ** Torturized **, which was launched in Magdeburg in 2001, is known for her brutal Death Metal style, which is inspired by Grindcore, Doom and Progressive Metal. The debut EP "False Truth" shows humorous approaches in hard music.

** Wucan ** from Dresden, founded in the early 2010s, offers a unique mix of hard rock, metal, psychedelics and funk using classical instruments such as the flute.
