This means that current owners of the trainee ticket can continue to benefit from this price advantage, but they will not be able to purchase new tickets from the coming year.

The state governments of Berlin and Brandenburg are aware of the situation and have already announced that they want to develop a new subscription offer based on the Germany ticket together with the Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Association (VBB). This follow -up offer should be implemented early in order to offer the trainees a comparable option for the discounted student tickets.
