A traffic light coalition at the end: Who is to blame for the political pile of shards?
Berlin, Deutschland - Berlin (ots)
A political earthquake shakes Germany: The traffic light coalition, the former hope from the SPD, Greens and FDP, has finally failed! Chancellor Olaf Scholz desperately tries to steer his government's last features and plans to whipped important laws and the budget until they are elected. But how should that work without the support of the FDP, which has now made it very clear that it is no longer available for majorities? Scholz is under immense pressure, while the election campaign is already in the starting blocks.
Now it gets serious: To end political chaos, Scholz has no choice but to ask the question of trust in the Bundestag. The mood is explosive and the main debt is wondering: Who is responsible for the traffic light? Is it the SPD and the Greens, or is Christian Lindner, the FDP boss, more in focus? The struggle for blame will certainly be violent and will disturb the voters.
a break of cooperation
The communication patterns and personal hostility between the traffic light partners have come to light more honestly than ever. Inner party disputes and personal power struggles have led to none of the parties to work together. Lindner is viewed as a tragic figure that stumbled across Jamaica negotiations in the past and is now leaving the traffic light coalition before the actual end. Wissing has even publicly accused Lindner of stealing responsibility!
The consequences of this failure could be catastrophic. Overall, there are an overhead of uncertain times for Germany: Against the background of economic challenges, a political vacuum is the last one that citizens would like. The traffic light parties, which were supposed to stand together for stability and progress, have not noticed their common responsibility in a decisive phase-and that could still refrain from the next Bundestag election! Germany needs a solution, not just empty words!
