A new star in the sky of the job! On November 7, Ulrike Sommer was ceremoniously appointed the new head of the Agency Weilheim. Dr. Markus Schmitz, the head of the Bavarian employment agencies, presented her the official certificate and praised her impressive career. Sommer takes responsibility for employment in five counties, including Fürstenfeldbruck and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. A challenging job, because the agencies are standing before stormy times due to the shortage of skilled workers and demographic changes.

The celebration in the parish hall in Weilheim was a complete success! Around 80 guests, including the second mayor Angelika Flock, warmly welcomed summer. Flock joked over the slogan "Weilheim attracts" and emphasized the joy of the new leader. Wolfgang Taffertshofer, deputy district administrator, also wished summer success and joy in her new role. The previous incumbent, Markus Nitsch, who is now retired, leaves great footsteps, but he is convinced that summer will lead the agency with flying colors.

Ulrike Sommer, who grew up in Hanau and studied Catholic theology, has an abundance of experience. She has been part of the Federal Employment Agency since 1993 and has served in various management positions. Your expertise ranges from the management of the Munich Employment Agency to the management in Freising. Dr. Schmitz praised her as "one that can drill thick boards" and emphasized her ability to understand and support people.

In her inaugural speech, summer described her new job as "the best after the Pope" and emphasized her commitment, especially for young people and unemployed. She would like to promote professional integration and write individual success stories. "I'm becoming a collector of the story," she announced, and shared moving examples of people who found new perspectives thanks to the agency. With a creative and committed team, she wants to master the challenges of the labor market and strengthen the region.
