Fascination stamps: a trip through the postal story!

A true festival of the philately! The exhibition "Stamps and Postal History" attracted numerous visitors and left a lasting impression. The enthusiasm of the guests is reflected in the entries of the visitor book, where they praised the event as "very successful" and "insightful". Writers like Walter Benjamin and Louis Aragon described the fascination of the stamps as a universe full of stories, and that was exactly what the guests experienced up close.

The exhibition illuminates the exciting history of the post office and its collectibles, which act as chroniclers in the past. Visitors were particularly impressed by the exhibits that document inflation in Germany between 1920 and 1923 when the posting was astronomical marks. In addition, stamps and postal documents from the time of German colonies, as well as historical documents from the times when Neustadt am Kulm belonged to Prussia, were exhibited. A highlight was the impressive letter from a bricklayer on the "all -ran most, great king" Ludwig of Bavaria, in which he asked for help.

Fascination of historical objects

The historical uniforms from 1905 and 1960, the old telephones, mailboxes and stamp machines, which gave rise to a piece of city history, caught the eye. Visitors were enthusiastic: "A wonderful exhibition, all respect!" And "Exhibition compiled with passion. Keep it up!" The little guests also had the opportunity to send their grandparents a greeting at the post office counter with special postcards, complete with a "special postmark".

The exhibition was supported not only by the exhibitors, but also by the home club, which documented the Eschenbach Postal History from 1851 with large forest boards and loans from the Museum für Kommunikung Berlin and the Grafenwöhr military museum. A complete success for the organizers and an unforgettable experience for the visitors!
