Christmas in the heart: How to help children in need!

Christmas is just around the corner, and in Bavaria there is a great opportunity to give children a smile in need. The aid organization Humedica has launched the "Gift with Heart" campaign, which has encouraged people to pack Christmas presents for needy children since 2003. Only this year, over 66,000 children from countries such as Ukraine, Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria and Albania were surprised with lovingly packed packages.

The gifts are given by volunteers at special collection points, where they are safely stored before they are brought to the children by volunteer drivers. Roswitha Bahner-Gutsche, the campaign manager, emphasizes how important volunteers are who invest their time to support this special action. New collection points can now also register. Information on this can be found on the website www.geschenk-mit-herz.de, whereby the registration deadline is on October 27th.

Important details about gathering points

There are already several collection points in the region, including the Gabor Outlet in Mindelheim as well as DM drugstores and local kindergartens in Bad Wörishofen and Türkheim. A list of the current collection points can be found below. The gifts can be packed for different age groups, either for children from three to seven years or for those aged eight to twelve years.

To ensure that the gifts like the children, there is a packing list on the website of the campaign. This contains recommendations so that all children receive similar gifts.
