Trainer Torsten Holm and sports director Andreas Schreiner leave the club, while Tom Gabler leaves the sporting management for professional reasons. While Gabler's return after the winter break is still uncertain, it is clear that Holm will no longer return. The trainer, who had only taken over the helm in the summer, asked for the early termination of the contract. In addition to sporting reasons, the immense effort also played a decisive role in this decision. After 18 points from 18 games, the team ranks in a worrying third -last place. Holm was no longer on the line in the recent 5-2 win against Ergoldsbach.

"I thank FSV VfB for the past few months. Sometimes 'matched' just not on the sporty side. The great time effort was simply no longer wearable for me," explains Holm. Andreas Schreiner, who gave up his position as sports director, also emphasizes that the last games of the past season showed him that the passion for training is still burning. "I am open to everything that comes," he says full of zest for action.

Thomas Gabler remains in the club committee

The situation at Thomas Gabler is different: Due to his professional obligations, it has to step shorter, but remains active as a member of the association committee. "His tasks in the marketing department are not affected," the association assures. Gabler and Schreiner took over the sporting management in spring 2023 when the association was already a relegated team. Despite all the efforts, the association was initially only able to achieve a disappointing 14th place in the new season.

FSV VfB board member Jürgen Brunner emphasizes that you want to reorient yourself in peace and prudence. "We will not make rushed decisions. It is important to plan the right steps for the future," he announces. The responsibility for the next district league game now lies with co-player coach Pavel Panafidin.
