Schweinfurt pharmacies in need: Insolvency proceedings started!
Schweinfurt, Deutschland - In Lower Franconia, the economic difficulties for two pharmacies have worsened. The cardiac pharmacy and the Westend pharmacy in Schweinfurt have filed for bankruptcy in order to make a change using a renovation process. The owner Dieter Hümmer appeals to customers to show their support in this critical phase.
The situation of the pharmacies in Germany is worrying: In the first half of 2024, the number of pharmacies dropped to only 17,288, which is a new low, according to data from the Federal Association of German Pharmacist Associations. The causes are diverse and range from an acute lack of specialists to inadequate remuneration to high administrative effort. The current delivery bottlenecks also tighten the situation. So many medications are currently not available, which also complicated the work of the pharmacies.
renovation of the Schweinfurt pharmacies
On October 4, 2024, the Schweinfurt District Court ordered the preliminary insolvency administration on the assets of the two pharmacies. Peter Roeger from the Pluta law firm works as a provisional insolvency administrator. In his most recent message, he emphasized that the company continues in both pharmacies: "That means that both pharmacies are open as usual," said Roeger. The salaries of the 32 employees are also provisionally secured for three months, since the pre -financing of the bankruptcy money has already been initiated.
Dieter Hümmer, who heads the two pharmacies, was pleased with the support of the employees and partners in this difficult time. The pharmacies continue to offer comprehensive advice and most important products, including pharmaceutical products and cosmetics. A bot service is also part of the offer to serve customers as best as possible.
support from the customers asked
To make the pharmacies fit for the future, Hümmer turns directly to the customers. In a current social media contribution, he explains that the loyalty program, the so-called "pharmacist", has to be temporarily paused. He describes the current phase as "challenging" and hopes for a lively support from the customers: "We ask for your understanding and hope that many customers will visit us in the coming weeks." Together with the insolvency administrator, an economic future solution is now being worked intensively. Comprehensive analyzes on the financial situation of the pharmacies must be carried out in order to master the challenges.
In Germany, the population is also faced with other health challenges, since an increase in pneumonia, especially mycoplasms, has recently been determined. This mainly affects children and adolescents and increases the pressure on the already burdened pharmacies and clinics that suffer from the situation in many regions, including Franconia.
