Schweinfurt, Deutschland - The EC Pfaffenhofen had to take two disappointing defeats in the ice hockey Bavaria league at the beginning of the year. On Friday, the team lost 3: 7 in the home game against EA Schongau. This game was a basement duel in which the ECP had the opportunity to reciprocate for the first leg defeat (2: 4). But the team was ultimately unable to assert itself, although in the first third by Jan Tlacil, 1-0 took the lead. Schongau equalized through a deflected pass and turned the game in the further course with a strong final third in which they scored four goals. ECP coach Stefan Teufel commented dissatisfied about the decision-making process in front of the goal and the performance of his players. Despite over 20 goal shots in the final third, the team did not succeed in scoring a goal.

The negative series continued on Sunday when the ECP lost 1: 3 at ERV Schweinfurt. At the beginning of the game, Schweinfurt presented Petr Pohl in the 5th minute, but an own goal of Pohl brought Pfaffenhofen back into the game (13th minute). However, Dylan Hood and Nils Melchior ensured that the hosts took the lead again and ultimately decided the game. In this game, coach Teufel particularly criticized the many punitive times in the second third, which led to a clear defeat after 24 minutes. The ECP is now in the penultimate place in the table and the gap to Pre-Play-Off-Platz is already ten points, which significantly reduces the chances of participating.

ea Schongau demonstrates strength

As already reported, the last encounter between EA Schongau and the EC Pfaffenhofen was also a successful for the Schongau team, which emerged with a 6: 3 victory from the Bayernliga preliminary round. Ville Saloranta, who scored five goals for Schongau, was the honorable player in this encounter and thus secured the goal scorer crown of the main round with a total of 32 goals. Trainer Ken Latta praised the good harmony between Saloranta and Matthieu Newcomb. The guests started behavior; Pfaffenhofen led 1-0 after the first third before Saloranta changed the encounter significantly. In the third third, Schongau took control of the game and gave the local heroes no chance.

Both teams currently seem to swim in different feelings, with Pfaffenhofen, which is in a crisis, and the EA Schongau, which is impressive. The ECP urgently has to work on its performance if it does not want to fall behind in the race for the pre-play-offs.
