How is a bicycle -friendly Schwabach? Take part in the climate test!

The eleventh nationwide bicycle climate test of the General German Bicycle Club (ADFC) runs and the city of Schwabach is called to take a lot of participation in it. By November 30th, cyclists have the opportunity to make their experiences and opinions on bicycle-friendly conditions in the city via an online survey at www.fkt.adfc.de. This survey is not only a platform for expression of opinion, but also serves as a valuable source of information for the city administration to continuously improve the cycling infrastructure.

Mobility consultant Dr. Maximilian Hartl and Bettina Klose, the city's bicycle representative, have already emphasized how important a broad participation is. "The more Schwabacher participants, the more meaningful the results are," explains Dr. Hartl. The survey includes targeted questions on topics such as parking facilities for bicycles, the quality of the cycle paths and the overall positive cooperation in road traffic.

A look at the survey of 2022 shows that many citizens expressed the desire for public rental bikes. In the meantime, Schwabach's cyclist can use the VAG_Rads offer, which is a direct result of the proposals collected. This illustrates how many suggestions and wishes of the cyclists are taken seriously to bring about improvements. "This example shows how important the suggestions are of those who ride bike in Schwabach. They help us act in a targeted manner," confirms Dr. Hartl.

The current survey includes 27 questions that determine important aspects of bike use in the city. Cyclists who take part in the survey have the opportunity to register for a newsletter that informs you about the results. This is particularly exciting, since in the spring of 2025 the most bicycle -friendly cities and municipalities are awarded in various size classes. The award could give Schwabach additional recognition at the national level and further promote cycling in the region.
