The incident occurred around 1 p.m. when the construction workers on the popular street on the Kranen attacked a pipe from which they incorrectly accepted that it was out of operation. Shocking, the gas line was active! Gas immediately escaped and the construction workers alerted the fire brigade. Thanks to the rapid response, the emergency services were able to quickly disconnect the management - luck in misfortune, because there was no danger to the population and injuries at any time.

But the misfortune had immediate effects on traffic - the entrance to the long street was closed! Cars were damaged around the fruit market and other central roads were no longer navigable. The traffic chaos stopped while being redirected. However, the police operation ended at shortly before 2 p.m. and the Bamberg municipal utility company took over the repair work. The location stabilized quickly, but the fright sits deep!
