Wasserburg: New accommodation for unaccompanied minor refugees!
Wasserburg am Inn, Deutschland - In Wasserburg am Inn, a new initial reception facility for unaccompanied minor refugees is created because the existing capacities are not sufficient. District Administrator Otto Lederer made this decision in the last meeting of the youth welfare committee. From January 2025, two residential groups, each with twelve places, are to be set up in a former student home. According to the Bavarian Ministry of Family Affairs, 1,869 refugees have already come to Bavaria alone this year, with the Rosenheim region alone in taking 151 unaccompanied minors, such as bgland24.de reported .
The new facility should not only relieve the locations that have already been overcrowded, but also improve the care of young people from Afghanistan and Syria. No extensive conversions are necessary for old construction use, since the building already has all the necessary functional rooms. In addition to the 24 places for regular stays, there are also six places for preliminary inauguration, confirmed Wasserburg voice . The district youth welfare office of the district claims the operating license for this facility and will fully carry the financing from the Upper Bavaria district
The need for this new institution results from the increase in the numbers of minor refugees, which has risen sharply again since 2018 since 2018. Many of the arriving young people have been housed in the past due to lack of space in sports halls. With the creation of this new facility, the district of Rosenheim sets an example that it reacts to the current situation and improves support for refugee minors.
