Medicine deficiency in Rosenheim: worries grow before winter!

In the Rosenheim region, there is an alarm mood: Several hundred medication are not available! From blood pressure products to pain relievers to antibiotics and psychotropic drugs - the list of missing medicines is long and worrying. "There is no noticeable improvement," warns Florian Nagele, spokesman for the Bavarian Pharmacist Association. The cold season has already started, and the concerns about the supply of medication are growing with every sneezing and coughing in the air.

While pharmacists and doctors confirm the alarming bottlenecks, the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) sees the situation very differently. "There is no 'supply shortage', but selective delivery bottlenecks," explains a spokeswoman. But Nagele can only shake his head about it: "Anyone who claims that should come to a pharmacy with a recipe. This is a disaster!" The reality in the pharmacies speaks a different language - availability is anything but stable.

A bright spot, however, is: Fieber juices for children are available again after they were rare last year. But it looks bleak with antibiotic juices. "We could only provide our customers through storage," said Nagele. The lack of important drugs remains an urgent problem, and the doctors are concerned about the upcoming winter months. Dr. Michael Iberer, chairman of the medical district association, reports of bottlenecks in antibiotics, diabetes and asthma sprays. "Politics reacted, but the problems continue to exist," he says.

dispenser law as a possible solution?

A possible way out of the misery could be the dispenser right that allows doctors to give medication directly. "That would be helpful because we know what our patients need," says Iberer. But the implementation is controversial and could lead to conflicts of interest. The situation remains tense and the pharmacists do everything they can to maintain the care. But the question remains: how long can it go?
